Fast rising glamfunk-with-style-and-substance stars Sa-Ra Creative Partners have postponed part of their European tour to work on an "important" movie in the United States. The trio had committed to the film before booking the tour and discovered that production dates coincided with some tour dates. The band announced in a press release that rescheduling was not possible "due to the size and importance of the production" -hinting at something big.

Christmas comes early for those lucky enough to be in London on December 12. Gilles Peterson will present his Worldwide Awards 2005 with a kickin' ceremony at Camden's Koko. Punked-out Japanese jazz electics Soil & "Pimp" Sessions will return for a fresh live performance, following their storming show at Cargo earlier this year. Twenty top DJs will be playing their favourite 2005 track: spinners in the bag include Jazzanova, Bugz In The Attic , Mad Mats, Henrik Schwarz, 1Xtra's Benji B, UFO's Toshio Matsuura, Domu, Quantic, Patrick Forge and Norman Jay. And a special guest is to be announced. As of today you can still get that little paper slip guaranteeing you a party at Ticketweb.

Ubiquity Records kick off their new cratescavenger Digs series with Digs!America, an exclusive peak into Gilles Peterson's famous Brownswood basement. Sixteen rare US tracks culled from the Worldwide radio host's secret hideaway record-house in North London, on triple-LP and CD, with a fascinating insight into Peterson's collecting habits courtesy of very nice liner notes. Read the OnTheFlip review here.

Nice way to start! Tosca, the dubby downbeat disguise of Richard Dorfmeister and Rubert Huper, will be giving their first US live performance at New York's Irving Plaza on December 7. The duo, whose latest longplayer J.A.C. is easily their best so far, have thrown together a live band featuring Ras Mc Tweed of Rockers Hifi and ertswhile-Galliano-man-turned-2Banksof4-stalwart-turned-fictional-character-Earl Zinger Rob Gallagher. The Irving Plaza show will also feature visuals by longtime Kruder & Dorfmeister supplier Fritz Fiske and a 4-hour Dorfmeister DJ set.

In other concert news, Lonnie Liston Smith returns to London's Jazz Café for a one-off show on April 10 2006. Further Jazz Café shows to look out for include Nicola Conte's sumptuous live band, original electro rapper Kurtis Blow, soul's own Marlena Shaw and Ubiquity's latest hardhitter Ohmega Watts.

Appreciators of the Brazilian-fixated Farout Recordings will be delighted that the label is issuing a series of six limited seven-inches, with music from the likes of Future Warriors, Troubleman and Azymuth. Artwork on the sleeves is assured by the mercurial Swifty and Mat, making these both collectable and great for display. The label has also got a new line of tees with their very nice logo..uhm, lined up. Yes yes.

As if it was ever hard to export the Swedes! Eternally-on-the-party-tip label Raw Fusion is setting up shop in the United States, courtesy of newly-recruited New York office label manager DJ Scribe. Studio Distribution will handle all of Raw Fusion's CD releases and join the already existing link with the more hiphop mindedn Raw Fusion offshoot Jugglin' Records. So stateside beatheads will have easier access to current high-flyers like the Inside Scandinavia Vol. 2 compilation and a re-release of Damn!'s funky-as-hell Youth-Style album.

We mourn the announced passing of the Loud record shop in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. The forward-thinking outlet for all things electronic will close its doors on August 27th and a bar will take its place. Watch out for a final blowout sale on the last day, where both records and store inventory will go for cheap. Now where will all the Danish capital's broken beat heads go off to?

Okay, the big 'aargh' is the still tbc drop date for Steve Spacek's Dollars 12" on the Sound In Color label. Already a master, Jaydee outdoes himself brilliantly on the production tip -carving out a future-retro soul gem, sounding like a gorgeoulsy weightless dusty old soul tune, but with just that perfect little contemporary kick. Don't sleep on this, a good contender for track of the year. Now where is it?

Counterpoint Recordings, home to the soulful acid-jazz legacy-life of Fertile Ground and the tight electronic funk of Pixel, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary by letting selected artists dig through the Counterpoint archives and remix at will. Sunga T' Experience, Ernesto and Misa Negra are some of the remixers featured on the forthcoming Version Excursion compilation, due to drop on July 11. Now, wasn't there a Harmless compilation with the same title a few years back? (yes, and it was a good one!).

Taking its concept of 'sexy house for the whole family' all the way, Neroli Records has launched a signature pair of women's underwear. The red g-string features a white Neroli logo on the front -and uhm, very little on the back. They also like sexy football -although the featuring of Danish center-forward Preben Elkjær on the Neroli site is hardly saucy. On the musical side of things, promos for Just One's Soul Revolution 12" are floating around.

Italy. Sun. The beach. And if that doesn't sound alluring, throw in live performances by Reel People and Mark de Clive Lowe as well as DJ sets by Seiji, Domu, Patrick Forge and residents Simone Seritella and Franco Fusari. It's all happening at the Boca Barranca Beach Parties all through the summer in xx. Sure beats getting rained-out on Brighton beach...
